The following are notes from a Diary kept by Frank A. Nichols, Shinglehouse, Pa [typed out by Willard A. Nichols]:

Jan     9       1875:   50 below zero
Jan     31,     1875:   Grandma Kate Jones died. Age 94
Feb     11,     1875:   Lon Newton & Laura Newton married.
Mch     30      1875:   Loren Prince to Emma Warner at Olean
July    3,      1878:   A. Wolcott had Silver Wedding
Sept    27      1878:   Wallace Burdick broke his leg twice in two
Oct     19,     1882:   F.A. Nichols & Anna McGregor were married. Rev. Rhimevault (?) tying the knot.
                        Present: B.F.N. & wife, R.N. and W.A. and wives; Merle, A.F., & Alice Bean & 
                        Laura, & Dan Mc & Family, Scott, wife & child.
                        Went to Portage Falls.
Jan     15      1889:   Jona Warner died last night about 12 to 1.
Aug     28      1889:   Hattie Wolcott died.
Sept    14      1889:   Earnest Woodard died.
Oct     11      1889:   Mate Nichols died.
June    27,     1891:   Golden Wedding of B.F.N.  About 100 present.

Aug     18,     1905:   John Johnson killed at heading mill, by bushing of a saw.
Oct.    5,      1905:   Ed Davis lost his arm.
Sept    24,     1906:   Clarence Newton died.
July    16,     1907:   Nelt Newton died, 81 yrs old
Oct.    10,     1907:   Batron Sealey died.
Feb.    9,      1908:   Walter Harvey killed. Will Slawson had leg broke. 
Mar.    2,      1908:   Mrs Harley McDowell operated for peritonitis- died      
Mar     7,      1908:   Father B.F.N. died at 2:15 PM. Died very peaceably & quietly. Born July 15, 1819. 
Mch     15,     1908    Seth Drake died. 
Dec     2       1908    Wedding day, Robert N.
Jan     11      1909    Mrs Albert Maulkin died. She was in Indiana attending Millenium Dawn.

May     19      1934:   Howard N & Elizabeth Kenfield of Ischua married
June    16      1934:   Ira Press & Gertrude Mills married
July    13      1934:   Jen Drake found dead in chair.
Sept    16      1934:   Lizzie Marchusi killed in auto accident in New Mexico
Oct     12      1935:   Wells Grames died
Jan     17      1937:   Fred Newton died; born Feb 1854 age 83
April   6       1937:   E. T. McDowell died
April   7       1937:   Mollie Terwilliger Diied
