FARNHAM, Rolland Death 12-1878 DIED: One Tuesday last, a telegram was received by C. H. Doud announcing the death of his brother-in-law Rolland Farnham, formerly of this place and late of Maryland where he received a kick from a horse which resulted in his death. His remains were brought here and buried in Potter Brook on last Friday where they had a daughter buried. Funeral Services held in church at this place. Rev. J. W. Miller preaching the funeral sermon to a well filled house. The week of prayer will be observed here in this church commencing last evening.

Married 2nd, June 6, 1844 to Rodney Fessenden. Children: Ransom M., deceased, Henry of Coudersport, Sylvania Tenbrook, deceased, Leroy and Lewis of Roulet. Survived also by her husband.

FLETCHER, Amanda Death 10-1878 Last Friday two funeral processions met at the White’s Corners Cemetery. One from Harrison Valley, bearing the remains of Mrs. Amanda Fletcher, who had long resided in this county. The other came from West Union to pay a last tribute to Cynthia, wife of Allen Houghtailing. This is the second wife Mr. Houghtailing has lost within a year.

FLURSCHULTZ, Cora (Meisgier) Death 09-28-1913 Mrs. Cora Flurschultz, widow of the late J. N. Flurschultz, died in her home last Sunday (September 28, 1913). She was born in Shimerdorf, Germany January 22, 1856 and came to America in the summer of 1872 and made her home in Rockland, Sullivan Co. NY. In 1874 she married J. N. Flurschultz who died 8 months ago. Eight children survive: Mrs. M. R. Rice, Mrs. William Stafford of Portville, NY, Mrs. William Perigo, Mrs. H. C. Feiro, Mrs. C. G. Ambrose, George, John & Carl of Galeton. Two sisters; Mrs. Margaret Noehrle and Mrs. Kate Woehrle, both of Roscoe, NY, and 2 brothers; one of Germany and Gottfried Meisgeier.

FOX, John M. Death 06-15-1913 John M. Fox died very suddenly last Sunday afternoon [6-15-1913] at the home of his sister Mrs. Henry Benson. He was a resident of Antrim. Buried in West Hill Cemetery.
FRANCIS, Charles Death 02-28-1923 Word was received at Oleona of the death of Charles Francis on February 28th in Buffalo, NY. He was a true son of the Stowell Dam of Slate Run, 2 miles from the Jersey Shore turnpike in 1869. At the time his parents by Pack Francis and Jennie Ashcraft Francis were employed by Phelps and Dodge who were clearing the virgin pine from the Black Forest. He is survived by his widow the former Margaret Clulkey and 4 children: Mrs. Willard Lund, Miss Sybill Roger and Miss Cynthia, all of Buffalo, one brother Jessie Francis of Hynerville and one sister Mrs. James Jerolds of Stewardson. Buried in Buffalo.

Elizabeth Shaffer married 1st in 1853 to Rev. Adam Haughenberry, who died in 1855, by whom she had one son, J. Loraine Haughenberry, who died in 1902. In 1869 she was married to Dr. Amos French and they had one son, Frank French.

Born in Steuben Co. in 1818; moved to Tioga Co. with his parents. Married there in 1840 to Miss Margaret Shaff by whom he had 3 children: William French of Colo., Mrs. Willoughby, another daughter who died young. His first wife died in 1851. Married 2nd Miss Olive Churchill in 1852 by whom he had 3 children: J. C. of Pittsburgh, Mrs. William Hazen of Roulet, and a daughter who died at age 2 years. His 2nd wife died in 1887. Survived also by one brother, J. W. French of Little Marsh, Pa.
